In the 18th century, farm owners used to brew their own, homemade root beer for family get-togethers. In fact, when Dad's Root Beer was developed in the 1930s, it was created in honor of the inventors' fathers, who made root beer at home for their families on special occasions. Within the next two decades, Dad's went on to become one of the most popular drinks in America.
